Susan Campbell Jewelry is owned by Susan Campbell and fiancé Ryan Hatler. Susan Campbell has a bachelor’s degree in Art History and Comparative Religions with a minor in Studio Art. Susan began metal fabrication and casting in her last years at the Florida State University. Her love of metals and how they interact with society throughout the ages was born.
Susan moved to New Orleans, LA after college where she began a two year study of classical sculpture, drawing and photography at the prestigious New Orleans Academy of Fine Art. Her love was once again, sculpture. She loved the idea of turning a concept into a lasting metal object. It was also in New Orleans that she discovered the art of handmade, gallery quality, artisan jewelry. She worked for years in local New Orleans jewelry shops and studios.
Susan and fiancé Ryan met in New Orleans and it was love at first sight. Music, food and art kindled their romance and excited their dreams of owning their own business. After Hurricane Katrina ravished New Orleans, Susan and Ryan moved to Pensacola, Florida (Susan’s home town) vowing to bring with them the joir’ de vive’ they so loved about their former city.
Susan Campbell Jewelry was opened in March of 2006. Both Susan and Ryan are active in the revitalization of historic downtown Pensacola and work intimately with local organizations to create a vibrant future for themselves, their families and their community.
Susan and Ryan will be married in October of 2007.
